Youth Workshop in Tullamore on Saturday 6 October 2012

A Youth Day will take place in the Church of the Assumption Tullamore on Saturday 6 October.

Fr Patrick Donnelly CC explains that “the day will focus on music workshops which will be led by Ian Callanan. Young people from sixth class in primary school right up to sixth year in Secondary school are welcome. While part of the day is focused on liturgical music, it does not matter if you can’t sing! The whole point of the day is bringing young people together to have some fun, make new friends and celebrate our Christian faith.”

Also welcome are adults involved in youth ministry, including choir directors, people working with young readers or those who lead youth prayer groups. Ian Callanan is happy to do some work with choir directors while the young people are involved in the fun activity in the afternoon.  Those who play musical instruments are more than welcome to bring them along.

Venue:  Church of the Assumption Tullamore in the Day Chapel

Date:     6 October 2012. Registration begins at 10.00am. Day concludes at 8.30pm

Cost:      €15 per person which includes music workshop fee, fun activities in afternoon, coffee breaks, light lunch and evening meal.

Each young person and adult must have a registration and safeguarding form completed for the day.  These are to be presented at registration on the Saturday morning.  They are available at www.tullamoreparish.ie.

During the main workshops, Ian will teach all new pieces of music, four of which will be sung at the vigil Mass that evening which will be celebrated by Archbishop Charles Brown, who is taking part in the Parish Novena.  New members of the Tullamore Junior Parish Pastoral Council will be commissioned at the Mass and afterward it is hoped to launch our advertisement campaign for the 4th National Parish Youth Conference.
