Two upcoming events to celebrate the Year of Faith

October 2013

A celebration of the Year of Faith will be held in St. Patrick’s College, Maynooth on Thursday 31 October 2013, from 11am until 4.30pm.  The main features of the event include a lecture on the Catechism of the Catholic Church by Cardinal Levada, Prefect Emeritus of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.  Mass will be celebrated by Archbishop Charles Brown, with the liturgical music performed by Peadar Ó Riada.

Primary and secondary school teachers and all who are interested in passing on Faith to young people are cordially invited to attend this worthwhile day. The event will give information about Faith which will help to maintain and develop the Catholic ethos in the Catholic schools of Ireland.  The theme for the Year of Faith identifies the Catechism is an inexhaustible treasure and one of the fruits of the Second Vatican Council.

November 2013

The various Eucharistic Adorations groups in the Diocese of Meath are invited to participate in events to mark the closing of the Year of Faith.

Mass with the Eucharistic Adorers will be celebrated in St Oliver’s Church, Navan on Saturday 23 November 2013 at 10am, followed by a half day of workshops and reflections which will be held in the Simonstown GAA Club House.

On the Feast of Christ the King, Sunday 24 November 2013 a similar celebration will take place, with Eucharistic Adorers invited to Mass in the Cathedral at 11am and to a series of workshops and periods of prayer in the Community Centre afterwards.
