St Mary’s Parish celebrates with Bishop-elect Nulty

A parish celebration took place on Friday 21 June, marking the Silver Jubilee of Bishop-elect Denis Nulty and his departure from St Mary’s ahead of his Episcopal Ordination on 4 August next.

The evening began with Mass in St Mary’s Church at 7.30pm. Among the many priests concelebrating the Mass were classmates Fr Philip Gaffney, Fr Joseph Gallagher, Fr David Bradley and Fr Eamonn Sheridan.  The Master of Ceremonies was Fr Joseph Campbell.

Maria Cahill led some of the Prayers of Intercession while various symbols of the much loved Parish Priest’s ministry were made prominent, including the school crest and holy oils.

After the Mass, a huge number of parishioners and friends filled the packed assembly hall in St Mary’s Parish School, where hospitality and entertainment was provided with great generosity by the parish team of volunteers.
