Bishop Michael Smith was accompanied by the Auxiliary Bishop of Iasi, Romania for the Cathedral’s patronal feast of Christ the King this morning.
The links between the Diocese of Meath and Iasi have grown in recent years with several Romanian clergy assisting in Meath parishes during the summer period.
In addition, Fr Ciprian Solomon, a priest of Iasi, who served for one year at the Cathedral in Mullingar, has now been assigned to the parish of Clara, residing in Horseleap. Fr Ciprian also helped in the parishes of Lobinstown, Oristown, Holy Family and Slane.
Bishop Smith expressed his thanks to Bishop Aurel Perca for the support the Romanian clergy give to the Diocese of Meath.
