Presentation of Diplomas in Ministry and Evangelisation

A course in Ministry and Evangelisation is offered each year in the Diocese of Meath from October until July.  Those who complete the course successfully receive a Diploma from Maryvale Institute in Birmingham.

The course provides essential formation for those in parish ministries, parish groups and new communities who have a commitment to mission, in the skills, knowledge and understanding needed to support them in their vocation. The modules cover the imperative of evangelisation and mission, knowledge and skills related to the communication of faith, the importance of the call to holiness, and emphasises the development of a strong ecclesial identity, together with spiritual and human development. As part of the course participants undertake a placement related to the development of key parish evangelisation skills.

It is a distance learning course, where students study at home, using materials provided by Maryvale Institute. There is a Study Day at the beginning of each term to introduce students to materials for the course.

Last year, 15 participants were presented with the award by Bishop Michael Smith and Mgr Paul Watson from Maryvale Institute, Birmingham.
