Oristown-Kilberry prepares for Eucharistic Congress

Oristown Kilberry parish had a full programme prepared for the arrival of the Eucharistic Congress Bell.

The bell arrived in the parish from Friday April 20 to Sunday April 22 beginning with a visit to each of the three primary schools in the parish, followed by a concert showcasing local talent in Gibbstown Hall.

On Friday and Saturday there was Rosary in Gibbstown Cemetery followed by a candle-light procession to Oristown Church.

On Sunday the parish celebrated First Holy Communion ceremony for children of Scoil Baile Ghib, Mass and a “Meet and Greet” after Mass in a marquee, in the green area beside church. In the afternoon  a football and hurling challenge match against neighbouring club Bhulf Tón took place, celebrating the life of the local commuity.
