Bishop Deenihan encourages families and individuals to avail of religious services and to unite in prayer via radio and on-line streaming from parishes with webcams. In these extra-ordinary circumstances all parishioners are dispensed from the Sunday obligation to attend Mass.
“While (public) Masses are suspended,
the voice of prayer should not be silent”
Several parishes in the Diocese have webcam facilities which are listed below.
The necessity of “social distancing” – in order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus pandemic – means that these broadcast Masses are being celebrated without a congregation. Online parish newsletters and social media channels contain the times of Masses and devotions in the parishes below:

Many families in the North-East of the diocese already have the dial set for the LMFM radio broadcast Mass every Sunday. This valuable service alternates between a parish in the diocese of Meath and the archdiocese of Armagh.

Some parishes (Castlepollard, Castletown-Geoghegan, Trim) also broadcast Mass on radio to the housebound and to nursing homes.
The Irish bishops have requested that we pray St Patrick’s Breastplate and the Memorare during the days ahead.
Some families are still using the the following prayer from the World Meeting of Families. It too has particular resonance as we pray for all in our family, our parish, our country and for our worldwide family:
God, our Father,
We are brothers and sisters in Jesus your Son,
One family, in the Spirit of your love.
Bless us with the joy of love.
Make us patient and kind,
gentle and generous,
welcoming to those in need.
Help us to live your forgiveness and peace.
Protect all families with your loving care,
especially those for whom we now pray:
[We pause and remember family members and others by name].
Increase our faith,
Strengthen our hope,
Keep us safe in your love,
Make us always grateful for the gift of life that we share.
This we ask, through Christ our Lord.
Mary, mother and guide, pray for us.
Saint Joseph, father and protector, pray for us.
Saints Joachim and Anne, pray for us.
Saints Louis and Zélie Martin, pray for us.
