Father Ray Kelly, the Oldcastle priest who became an internet sensation following his performance of Hallelujah at a couple’s wedding in April 2014, has released his debut album.
The album, Where I Belong, includes the new track Together Forever (The Wedding Song), and was released on 5 December 2014 through Universal Music.
In a press release about the album and single, Universal Music said: “Fr Ray was appointed as Parish Priest in Oldcastle in 2006. He was often asked to sing at local events, but never thought it would lead to anything, until he sang at the wedding of Chris and Leah O’Kane.”
Fr Kelly’s performance resulted in 37.8 million views on YouTube and a deal with Universal Music.
“However, Fr Ray made it clear to everyone that he wasn’t giving up his ministry as Parish Priest in the Co Meath town of Oldcastle.”
The album, which entered the Irish charts at number 4, is available in music stores nationwide.
