The Meath Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes will be led by Bishop Smith on 12-17 September.  The fare is €699, which includes return flights, 5 nights full board, taxes and travel insurance. The Diocesan Pilgrimage to Knock will take place on Sunday 12 August 2012.  It too will be led by Bishop Smith.  Youth Groups which are interested in travelling to Knock on that day are asked to contact Fr Martin Halpin at 046 9739015 or ballinabrackeyparish@gmail.com.

 Prior to that, the Summer Youth Festival will take place on Saturday 28 July at Knock Shrine. The a one-day event is for people between the ages of 17-30.  The festival comprises talks, workshops, music, prayer, reflection and finishes with celebration of the Eucharist.  Young people from every dioceses in Ireland will travel to the festival, some using it as a world youth day reunion from Madrid 2011, others a chance to get away, some just coming ‘for a look’ and this year some will use it as a follow up to the Eucharistic Congress which took place in Dublin on 10-17 June.  For further information, check out www.knock-shrine.ie/youthfestival or call 0876927850.

Another popular place of summer pilgrimage is Lough Derg. It is a unique place of peace and tranquillity that can offer you peace and quiet from the stresses, hustle and bustle of everyday, modern life. The traditional 3-day pilgrimage season continues until Wednesday 15th August.
