The death has taken place of Fr Patrick Keary, retired Parish Priest of Clara.
Fr Keary was a native of Kilcormac parish and was educated at St Finian’s and Maynooth.
He was ordained on 19 June 1966 in Maynooth.
He served in St Finian’s College, Mullingar from 1966 – 1988, where he was appointed Vice President in 1986.
He then served in the parishes of Kilcloon 1988 – 1991; Sabbatical in Rome 1991-92; Holy Family, Drogheda 1992-2005 and Clara from 2005 until his retirement in 2019.
Fr Keary’s Funeral Mass will take place in Clara on Tuesday at 12 noon, followed by burial in Kilcormac.
