The death has occurred of Fr Patrick Casey, PE Carnaross.

Fr Patrick Casey was born in Mullingar on 30 July 1930. He was educated at St. Mary’s C.B.S and St. Finian’s and later at St. Patrick’s College, Maynooth.
He was ordained on 1 May 1955 in Mullingar and ministered in Dunboyne, Christ the King parish in Tampa, Florida, Castletown-Kilpatrick, Drumraney, St. Francis Hansworth (Birmingham), Dunderry and Kinnegad.
He was appointed Parish Priest of Carnaross in 1983 where he served until his retirement in September 2008.
Following his retirement, he returned to live in Mullingar and moved to Newbrook Nursing Home in April 2019 where he died peacefully on 3 June 2021.
Son of the late James and Mary Anne; predeceased by his brothers Jimmy, Mike and John and sisters-in-law May and Lily; he will be sadly missed by his sister-in-law Mary (Tullamore), nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, relatives, friends, Bishop Tom Deenihan, Bishop Michael Smith and his fellow priests and parishioners of the Diocese of Meath.

Requiem Mass on Saturday at 11 am.
Due to pandemic restrictions, Fr Casey’s Requiem Mass will be live-streamed on www.mullingarparish.ie/livestream. Fr Casey will be buried in Walshestown Cemetery.
Please note that due to restrictions on numbers attending funerals, priests are asked not to attend the Funeral Mass on Saturday for Fr Casey, other than those who have already been confirmed.
