We are having a prayer time in the Cathedral in Mullingar on Friday 31 August at 7.30pm to pray for our new Bishop as he prepares for his ordination on Sunday afternoon.
We will be praying too for the church in the Diocese of Meath. In particular, we will try to take to heart the message from the World Meeting of Families – that the church can learn something from families (welcome, respect and love) and that families can learn something from the church (prayer, witness and hope). All are very welcome to join us in this prayer which begins on Friday at 7.30pm and ends at 8.30pm.
During the ceremony, Bishop Smith will bless the new Bishop’s mitre, crozier and episcopal ring.
The music will be provided by Will Woods, Maeve Corroon and the St Paul’s Choir.
