Having served for many years as a De La Salle Brother, Fr Devine was ordained a priest of the Diocese of Meath in his home parish of Delvin on 5 September 1999. He served as Curate in Kingscourt until his appointment as Parish Priest of Mountnugent in September 2004, a position he held until his retirement in September 2015.
Funeral arrangements
Reposing at Portiuncula Nursing Home, Multyfarnham arrival at the Church of St Brigid, Mountnugent on Saturday 31 October at 6 pm where reposing will continue until 9 pm.
His nephew, Fr Oliver Devine, will celebrate Mass in the Church of St Brigid, Mountnugent on Sunday 1 November at 6 pm before the remains will be transferred to the Church of St Brigid and St Fiach, Ballinacree for reposing until 9 pm.
Requiem Mass on Monday 2 November at 1 pm in the Church of St Brigid and St Fiach, Ballinacree with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
