The death has occurred of Fr Ned Flynn, retired Parish Priest of Ballinabrackey.
Fr Flynn was the oldest priest in the Diocese of Meath, having recently celebrated his 99th birthday. Fr Flynn was born in Ballinabrackey in January 1916 and was ordained in Maynooth in 1941. In 1943 he became Professor in St Finian’s College, where he remained until 1960. He then served as CC Kilmessan until 1965, was transferred to Kells as CC until 1972 and became Parish Priest of Donore in 1972 where he remained for nine years prior to his appointment as Parish Priest of Ballinabrackey in 1981. He retired in September 1995 and resided in Portiuncula Nursing Home, Multyfarnham since 2005.

The funeral arrangements are as follows:
Reposing at Portiuncula Nursing Home on Sunday from 5pm untill 7 pm.
Removal on Monday to arrive at the Church of the Assumption, Ballinabrackey at 5pm and reposing there untill 7pm, followed by Mass at 7.30.
The Requiem Mass will take place on Tuesday at 12 o’clock with burial afterwards in the Church grounds
