Christian Unity – Sharing our faith in Jesus Christ

The theme for this year’s Week of Prayer for Christian Unity (18 – 25 January 2014) “Has Christ been divided?” is taken from Saint Paul’s First Letter to the Corinthians, prompting us to reflect on our role as Christians living and working together in our churches and in society today.

In his Letter, Saint Paul also points us to a way in which we can value and receive the gifts of others even in the midst of our differences, and that is an encouragement to us in our work for Christian Unity.

During this week we can focus on the many ways we can work together as Christians to share the Good News of the Gospel. Focusing on the word ‘together’ reminds us that, in Christ, we are one and that in all aspects of our Christian living we should seek to discover that unity which is God’s gift to us.
