During his visit to Trim on Monday 17 February 2014, Bishop Michael Smith welcomed the work on the extensive restoration of the former parochial house. An immense amount of the history of Trim in the 1880s is wrapped up in the history the house. For instance, the house backed on to the nineteenth century church and the end wall of that church has been returned, as a gift from the Sisters of Mercy, to be incorporated into the present facility. A number of plaques to priests who ministered in Trim during the 19th century are included in the building, as well as a pillar of the former church which is incorporated into the reception area.
Apart from providing a location for the various outreach organisations in the parish, it is also the centre where the Meals on Wheels are prepared and delivered on a daily basis. This necessitated a complete reorganization and equipping of the kitchen area.
The architect was Declan Clabby & Associates, Trim and the builders were Kercon Construction. The project was fully paid for by the parish.
